Protesters clashed with police on Romford Road in Forest Gate, east London, as they gathered outside Forest Gate Police Station to demand answers into the death of Edir Frederico Da Costa. Campaigners allege the officers brutally beat Mr Da Costa after he was stopped in June. The police watchdog is investigating the treatment of the 25-year-old, who died six days after he was stopped in a car by Metropolitan Police officers, in Beckton, Newham, east London. Mr Da Costa's family distanced themselves away from the violence seen at what was meant to be a peaceful demonstration.
